Well Douglas, my career brought me into contact with many U.K. politicians at every level. Some did have good hearts and honest intentions, only one of them was a senior national leader - Those at local level were unlikely to ascend the barriers erected by the three major parties. I believe that small center left and some of the independents could hold the keys to a better future. But which ones ? Peace, Maurice

Yes, the powerful in society have always been thus. Look to wherever power resides and there you will find those who pull the strings. I trust no politicians or political parties these days.

Which creates the paradox....... They can't exist without the people they murder. Q). Can we walk away? A). It's our only peaceful option, and we writers have a duty to promote this, N'est ce pas ? Peace, Maurice

This is truth that seems to be universal. Every country, every county, every State or any and every place that is Theirs, not ours, as we were kind and they took advantage.

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." "Love your neighbor as yourself." Living that way solves many problems and issues. Semantics is a huge issue, too, if one group says they deserve something or are owed something, others will take issue over the definition of "deserve" and "owed". You're right. Things are very messy in our world.

The robber barons simply beat everyone into submission. Then the peasants revolution brought about the magna carta, showing the pen was mightier than the sword . Turned out to be a double edged sword.... We have always been lied to by big business and political parties, who provide us with distractions like T.V. and drugs and porn / gender confusion. Now we have the double edged internet. Nevertheless we keep on writing. Peace, Maurice

Indeed! And those who lie, are encouraged by other liars which makes them all complicit. I wonder so often why a common-sensical, ethical person in the room doesn't shout, "Hey! Hold on a second! None of this is true!!" Perhaps because there are none in the room. Yes, we keep writing. Onward!

Substack is in the room, and it is one room of many in Good's mansion house..... Not yet too many Temples. Peace, Maurice
