BTW, been doing so much research for further promo of Suzanne I have only just subscribed to "World Beyond War"s newsletter. Thanks for the useful tip....
Thankyou Mya. I am blessed with forebears that include many adventurers and an penchant for telling their tales. I postulate the internet waited to be invented until I was created to anthologize them..... N'est ce pas ?
Thankyou Diana. While the intro is my own ruminations, the main tale's wordstyle is that of my ancestor, typed as I recall those faded pages that were stolen with Daniel Defoe's masterpiece. Some of Randalfs spellings are a smidgin' ambivalent, particularly his reference to James.... Good Father ? (literal or priest), Grandfather ? Godfather ? The final line is one of many markers of oral traditions in both sides of my oft itinerant family.
Thanks Douglas. Our very genes, our cells are the steepings fermented in our family history, our tribal memories, our lagoons of barely conscious, intuitive wisdoms.

Fabulous piece. I envy how richly steeped you are in your family's history.
The story was wonderful, as was the writing style, Maurice. Thanks for sharing.
