Nailed it. In all the brouhaha about emissions these are conveniently overlooked. An EV, being heavier than an equivalent ICE vehicle will create more of this type of pollution. A timely piece that I hope is widely read.
I thought of this post when I bought new tires last week - after 58,000 miles on my Prius. The tires were almost worn smooth. Where did all the rubber and chemicals go? Into the air we breathe - but I'm not sure there's a viable alternative - especially when industry only makes decisions based on economic criteria. Sad indeed
Yes! I recently heard out the dangerous tire emissions that have gone on for so long now under the pretense of better safety. We hope the tire industry is now forced to rectify this unnecessary danger with better technology.

Hi Lorraine, thanks for commenting. I read yesterday that the EU is busy forcing manufacturers to find cleaner production methods, but I am sceptical of both sides...... will the former be effective, are the latter of serious intent ? We need a different society not band aids....
Thanks for the reply Maurice. My comment was specifically addressing the toxic materials used in rubber tires. I believe it's used for maximum driver safety but at the expense of the environment. But over the years, manufacturers should have been able to have find a cleaner solution. The manufacturers need to be held accountable. Anyway, thanks again, great subject.

With respect Mark, there is always a Viable alternative, albeit sometimes hard to chew. Have a read of this..... theguardian.com/environment/2023/dec/04/more-than-1000-
Then consider this :- every cent we hand to the greedy globalists is a nail in our own demise.
Peace, Maurice
